Payment guidelines

Relate Brighton, Hove, Eastbourne, Worthing and Districts is an independent charity and we rely on payments from clients to keep our services open to everyone. Though we ask a set fee we understand that at times we may need to take into consideration your income and what you are reasonably able to pay. The service you receive is not affected by the amount that you pay. At your first meeting, your counsellor will discuss with you how much you can pay for each session.

Our fee for a 50 minute counselling session is £55.00. If your personal financial circumstances mean that this is more than you can afford then it may be possible for you to apply for a reduction in fees through our bursary scheme. How much you can pay will depend upon your family income, when you want to have your counselling sessions and whether you want to see one of our Counsellors in Training who have completed a course in counselling and who are undertaking further training, or a more experienced counsellor.

If wish to apply for assistance under our bursary scheme then we will ask you to complete a bursary application form.

You will be asked to pay in advance for each session preferably by credit card when you make the appointment. If you do not have a credit card then you are required to pay reception before you see the counsellor at your first appointment. You will then be asked to pay in advance before any subsequent sessions. With the exception of the first appointment we are unable to confirm appointments, for clients who do not hold credit cards, until the fee has been paid.
